David Howarth BA Hons Dip Arch RIBA - Director
David Howarth is a co-director of drdharchitects, with Daniel Rosbottom. Prior to starting the practice, David was a director of John Lyall Architects where he worked on projects at a variety of scales, including the £15m conversion of Hammersmith Pumping Station and competitions including the winning proposal for Crystal Palace Park, with Gustafson Porter.
David is an experienced academic who has taught within numerous UK architecture schools and currently runs a design studio with Daniel Rosbottom at London Metropolitan University. He is Visiting Professor at the School of Architecture at Northumbria University and has recently been appointed as an External Examiner at Oxford Brookes University. He is a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects UK and Overseas Validation Panels and an Independent Examiner for the Architects Registration Board. He sits on a number of committees for the RIBA and is a member of Sheffield City Council's Urban Design Review panel.
David studied Architecture at Leeds Polytechnic, The University of Sheffield School of Architecture and the University of North London.
Daniel Rosbottom BA Hons Dip Arch - Director
Daniel Rosbottom is co-director of drdharchitects, with David Howarth. Prior to starting the practice, he worked for Priestman Architects in London and Scandinavia, coordinating a competition team for a series of high profile international competitions.
Daniel is also the Head of the School of Architecture and Landscape at Kingston University in London. His research interests are defined through this synthesis of academia and practice; with the exploration of ideas and the development of areas of research being primarily undertaken through the design and the making of spaces, buildings and landscapes at many scales.
Daniel has lectured and taught throughout the UK as well as in Europe, the USA and Asia. His previous post was that of Postgraduate Academic Leader at London Metropolitan University. He is a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects Validation Panel and an Independent Examiner for the Architects Registration Board. He is also a regular contributor to journals on subjects across the disciplines of art and architecture.
Richard Marks BA Hons Dip Arch - Associate
Richard joined drdharchitects in 2005 having previously worked for 5 years at Feilden Clegg Bradley Architects. He became an associate in 2007.
Richard studied architecture at the University of Brighton and London Metropolitan University. He was commended in the RIBA Presidents Medals at both Undergraduate and Postgraduate.
