cromwell tower, barbican
This project for the refurbishment and remodeling of a 4 bedroom Barbican apartment is located on the 20th floor of the Grade 2 listed Cromwell Tower.
The aim of the project was to sensitively upgrade the original spaces and fixtures of the apartment whilst adjusting the layout to increase the scale of the living space and reduce circulation. New slender stud walls co-ordinate with the external glazing system and internal openings have been enlarged to incorporate full height doors.
The kitchen has been adapted to the requirements of family living and can be separated from the dining and living space by floor to ceiling sliding doors. Existing fixtures and fittings have been reconditioned and incorporated into the new layout. A new ceiling conceals wiring, integrated audio and video cabling, and flush curtain track. Sheet cork rubber provides a seamless floor surface throughout.
